We believe this deck to be one of a limited two-deck “Art Series” issue from the early 1900s. It’s not listed in the Hochman and has no brand number. Unique Art Nouveau back design. Gold edges are more muted than the ones you’d find on a USPC-made pack. Advertising dated April 1907 refers to this deck simply as “Our great 50-cent Cards,” suggesting they were an independent offering rather than part of SPCC’s established lines like Radium or Society. A fascinating find for the serious collector!
